The source of pain and symptoms in your body really come down to a couple of things:  chemicals and hormones which lead to INFLAMMATION.

Why Traditional Medicine Fails with Food Sensitivity.

If you're like most who reach this page, you've been to see multiple doctors...maybe even a specialist or two.

Unfortunately, they were not able to provide you with answers and it's still a mystery as to why you feel so bad.

Here's why traditional doctors overlook food sensitivity...

They simply don't believe in it because they know little to nothing about it.

Most traditional medical doctors are not trained in nutrition or how food interacts with the body.    On average, traditional doctors receive less than 8 hours of nutritional training during their entire schooling.  Chances are you've studied more about your body's nutrition than your general practitioner.

This is because traditional medicine focuses attention on stopping SYMPTOMS not finding triggers.  They use a method called the Symptomatic Approach.  This is an appropriate and effective approach for many medical issues but fails horribly with food sensitivity.

Here's how...

In the graphic above, you can see how traditional medicine works when NO food sensitivity is present but FAILS to work when there IS a food sensitivity. 

1.  The symptom appears.
2.  Traditional medicine applies "medicine" or surgery to the SYMPTOM which in many cases eases the inflammation.
3.  The symptom is dulled which gives the body time to heal itself.   
4.  No food sensitivity?   Great...you're healed!   Your problem is solved...Your life continues as normal and you never make it to this book.

5.  Here's where Traditional Medicine's Symptomatic approach fails. 

What happens if you have a food sensitivity like in circle 5? 

What if a food you're eating is triggering your ailment? 

Medicine or surgery do not remove food triggers...At best, they can sort of coverup the pain and symptoms for a little while.

The next time you eat your trigger food the symptoms repeat themselves and the cycle continues.  :(

Here's what happens in your body when you have a food sensitivity.

Let's start at the top of the Ferris Wheel of Pain graphic:

1.  It all begins when you unknowingly eat a trigger food.  
2.  In a HYPER-response to the problem food, chemicals and hormones are released into your blood stream. 
3.  Your pulse rate temporarily increases from 10 to 25 beats per minute. 
4.  Inflammation begins to set in. 
5.  Within minutes or hours you begin to experience a range of "minor" micro-responses that can include stuffy nose, watery eyes, stomach ache, gas, heartburn, headache, rashes and mind fog. 
6.  Within hours or days your main ailment flares up.  Once your pain and symptoms peak they then begin to subside. 

Back to 1.  You then unknowingly eat the poison food AGAIN and around the Ferris Wheel of Pain you go.

Finding trigger foods is HARD.

Here's why.

There are a couple main reasons why finding trigger foods is a challenge...  Delayed onset of symptoms is one of them.

 As you can see in the graph above, when you eat a problem food, food sensitivity symptoms are delayed hours, sometimes days. 

This means, BY THE TIME you feel the pain or symptoms of the trigger food, you've already eaten several more snacks and meals, engaged in different activities and maybe even gone to bed for the night.

To make it all the more complex, if you have multiple food sensitivities, by the time you feel symptoms of the first trigger food, you may unknowingly eat a second or a third one! :(

The next day you have no idea why you feel bad.  How do you know which foods are the triggers and which are ok?   It's confusing.  See what I mean when I say it's hard?

Because our minds can't see what's really going on we think, "My body is just built this way.  Sometimes I just feel bad."  NO!  Your body is not broken, it's the trigger food!

It's not your fault to think this way though.

Do you see how all this makes it nearly impossible for your brain to connect the dots between the trigger food and the pain and symptoms?

It gets worse...

Here's what makes it even more challenging to find your trigger food...

Don't confuse obvious "ALLERGY foods" like peanuts, shellfish or strawberries with SENSITIVITY foods.  "Sensitivity foods" are everyday common foods.

You can be sensitive to ANY food. 
Sensitivity Foods are just as likely to be a "healthy food", like broccoli or chicken, as they are to being a "junk food", like chocolate or potato chips.  They hide in plain sight.

This means...


Trigger foods are UNIQUE to each person. 

A food that's fine for you may be poison to someone else, while a food that's poison for you may be good for someone else.

As you can see, finding trigger foods can be a real challenge...that is unless you know the secret on where to look!  More on this in a moment.

How Do You Find Your Trigger Foods?

First, before you do anything, go the traditional route and see a doctor if you have not done so already.  They will rule out any underlying issues and put your mind at ease.

Once they rule out any serious malady...you may hear them say things like:

"I can't find anything wrong with you.", "It's probably anxiety or stress.", "It's in your head.", "It's part of getting older." and my personal all-time favorite..."Sometimes the body does funny things."

At that point it's time to take matters into your own hands and determine if you have a food sensitivity.

Here's what I did to solve my mystery skin ailment after the doctors told me, "sometimes the skin does funny things." 


This is how I discovered my own food triggers.  I hunted them down the only way I could think of...I went "old school baby"!  (don't worry, you're getting the shortcut version.  You won't have to go old school if you don't want.  I'm giving you the "easy button" version!)

Here's my story...

Traditional Medicine failed to solve my skin issues and I suspected I had some sort of food sensitivity.

I tried expensive blood tests but the results were not reliable.  The results included false positives (foods they said were bad for me but were NOT) and omitted known positives (foods I knew were bad for me but they failed to catch them). 

There was other issues too.  I couldn't trust it.

I began keeping a food journal with pen and paper! (Can you believe that...pen and paper...I told you I started old school! :)

To the shock of everyone (doctors included) , I found the culprit to my "incurable" ailment!

Sure, I didn't find the absolute underlying "cause" behind my ailment...that's probably a genetic oddity or some sort of predisposition or whatever.  But what's important is I discovered what TRIGGERS my ailment and makes me feel bad.

But it wasn't easy using the old school pen and paper method.  It took me over a year and a half of sorting through the clues to find my unique trigger foods.  I knew there was a better way.
