The Ailment Severity Formula works whether you've been suffering for weeks, months or even years. It works whether you're a woman or a man. It works whether you're young or older. The formula I'm going to share today works because it's holistic and factors in all aspects of your body - inside and out. It combines genetics, traditional science, biology, immunology, and food science and nutrition set forth by leading practitioners from around the world into one simple idea anyone can understand. There are only four things that contribute to your ailment and symptoms (outside of major maladies). Actually only TWO when you really break it down...the things you CAN control and the things you CAN'T. They are...
1. The things you have little control over:
That means the severity of your ailment (high or low) at any give moment is determined by these four things. We call it The Ailment Severity Formula: (GH + E) x (LF + TF) = AS I'm going to break this down for you. It's really very simple. Read this page carefully. Read it multiple times. It can literally transform the way you feel. This is the stuff they don’t teach in medical school and the reason your doctor doesn't know how to help you in a healthy way. Before we go any further... I want you to know you're not alone. Thousands have visited this site with the same frustrating mystery surrounding their ailments. The thing most people don't realize (traditional doctors included) is that mystery ailments and symptoms are NOT as random as they appear to be. They have patterns... Once you know the pattern of your ailment you're able to control THEM instead of them controlling YOU! In this article I'm going to show you how crack the pattern of your ailment so you can see it for yourself. We're NOT going to get into the nitty-gritty of it all (you can see that in another blog post), but the ailments and symptoms you have right now, for the most part, boil down to INFLAMMATION in some part of your body. If you have pain or a symptom right now as you read this, it means something in your body is swollen and inflamed. The inflammation can directly "causes" the pain or symptom - like with Joint and muscle pain. Or The inflammation inflames one thing yet "causes" something elsewhere in the body to go wrong (indirectly) - like with a common form of high blood pressure (tissues around the kidneys inflame which restricts blood flow and "cause" high pressure). Do you see how that works? So if you STOP or diminish the INFLAMMATION from happening, you can lessen or even STOP your mystery ailments from triggering in the first place. That's it. That's all you need to know for now... Here's the formula on how this works... (GH+E) x (LF + TF) = How you Feel It's really very simple... You have (Genetics and Heredity-GH PLUS Your Environment-E) TIMES (your Life Factors-LF plus your Trigger Foods-TF) EQUALS your Ailment Severity. Don't worry, I'm going to break all this down for you. Put another way... The Severity of your Ailment and Symptoms is "triggered" by two things: THINGS YOU "CAN'T" CONTROL (genetics and environment) And... THINGS YOU CAN CONTROL (life-factors and trigger foods). As you can see, the things inside of your control are really what dictate how you feel! Let me show you what I'm talking about here... The formula is broken down into Part 1 and Part 2. You can think of your body as a machine. The output is just the sum of the stuff that's put into it. Nothing more... Nothing less... Your Ailment Severity is simply the result of all that stuff... Like I said, the formula is made up of things you don't have as much control over (part 1 of the formula) and the things you have way MORE control over (part 2 of the formula). Let's me break it down for you here... Part 1 of the formula: (GH + E) Your Genetics and Heredity (GH) are what your mom and dad and generations of your ancestors have passed down to you. These are the little pieces that make you you. You can think of them as the instruction manual your body lives by AS YOUR LIFE HAPPENS. These little instructions and rules are the things you have very little control over. They are mostly predetermined at birth. BUT Genetics and Heredity is NOT what it used to be thought to be... For a long time it was thought that Genetics dictated everything about you. We now know that's wrong. For example, it was thought if you had the "cancer" gene you were predetermined to get cancer...that was that. Nothing you could do about it. As we learn more and more about genetics, we're discovering that's wrong thinking. VERY wrong thinking. Turns out our genes are programed to follow rules... and guess what? You have control over these rules! It's very TRUE the longer you ignore the "rules" your body is built on, VERY BAD things can and will break down. This is why Part 2 of the formula is WAY MORE IMPORTANT to focus on than genetics and heredity. I have a short video interview to show you with a world renowned holistic practitioner. He shows real world examples of this in action...it's pretty shocking stuff. I'll show you in just a minute... First, let's finish up Part 1 of the formula...the (E). Your Environment. Again, this is something you have limited control over when it comes to your ailment severity. Sure you can control your immediate environment...like your home...but outside of your home it's difficult to control the air you breath or the toxins in the air on any given day or the environment at work or in the department store etc. Unless you sentence yourself to a bubble inside your house... You can't control the weather, temperature, humidity or the thousands of other variables that make up our environments. That's why is so IMPORTANT to focus on the things you CAN CONTROL. Which brings us to part 2 of The Ailment Severity Formula... Part 2 of the formula: (LF + TF) These are the things you CAN control. And these are the things that will help you control your ailment's severity level. LF = Life Factors Life factors are things like Sleep quality, Stress levels, Hydration and water and Activities like exercise, stretching, sex, meditation, social activity and quiet personal time. Research is discovering life factors have a HUGE impact on ailment severity. And the good news is, you have almost 100% control over them. This means when you control your life factors you GAIN control over your ailment severity! Here's a short interview with Dr. Alan Christianson I mentioned earlier. It's only about two minutes long. In this video you'll see a REAL WORLD study of 20,000 REAL people done over 5 years that has SHOCKING implications...
Did you catch that?
The study found that STRESS levels had more of an impact on the overall DEATH rate of these 20,000 people than anything else...Including smoking! Like Dr. Christianson says, you can be the right weight, non-smoker and doing all the "right" things health wise but if your stress response is high it could literally kill you. Goes to show you how important Life-factors are. You'd be wise to track your important life-factors and see how they are impacting how you feel and your ailment severity levels. (I'll show you the best way to do this in a moment) Just so you know, Dr. Christianson is no light weight either. He knows what he's talking about. He's a NY Times Best Selling Author and frequently appears on TV shows like The Doctors and The Today Show. Now let's talk about the final piece of the formula...the other piece you have 100% control over. (GH + E) x (LF + TF) = AS Your Trigger Foods (TF). Trigger foods may be one of the biggest, if not THE BIGGEST, influence over your ailment severity and how you feel each day. Trigger foods are the foods your body is "sensitive to" or "intolerant of"... These are the foods your body has a IMMUNE response to. Again, we're not going to get into the nitty-gritty of it all (all the details are in other articles here on the blog) but here's the gist of it... A Trigger Food response is similar to a Food Allergy but rather than being a huge immediate reaction, like say the anaphylactic shock caused by a peanut allergy... ...a food sensitivity response is SLOW and can be delayed hours or even days. The delay is why it's so difficult to pinpoint the problem foods. You can think of a food sensitivity like being SLOWLY poisoned. You can literally SEE your body's immune response to being poisoned with a simple 3-Minute Food Sensitivity Test you can do at home right now. I show the steps on how to do it in the blog post How To Find Your Food Sensitivity Trigger Foods. Food science shows 80 to 90% of the U.S. population is sensitive or intolerant to at least 1 food. Like I said, the good news is you have 100% control over the foods you put into your body. In many cases all you have to do is stop eating the one food you're sensitive to. This causes the immune inflammation response to STOP and with it your ailment! Boom. Done. Almost like magic, you feel completely transformed. Putting the formula to work... We've learned your Ailment Severity is determined by 2 things. The things you can control and the things you can't. We've learned from the study that the things you CAN control in many ways are the most important when it comes to mortality, life longevity and how you feel each day. Let's look at an example - we'll use Dr Christianson's scenario. Let's say we have the two people the doctor described in the video. We'll call them Sue and Frank. Let's determine their Ailment Severity Score. (GH + E) x (LF + TF) = AS We start with Part 1 of the formula (GH + E)... Remember? These are the things you have little control over. Let's say both Sue and Frank are genetically predisposed to afternoon fatigue and headaches... Both of their mothers had severe fatigue and headaches and now they are predisposed to fatigue and headaches. Let's say we give them the worst possible heredity score for fatigue and headaches...10 out of 10. That's as high as it gets. This means they are both genetically likely to experience headaches WHEN the "rules" that control this gene are met. So both their (GH) scores = 10. Now for their environment (E)... We'll say they both live in a standard New York City apartment. I think we can agree (New Yorkers included) the New York environment is.... ummm, to put this mildly... a tough one. Smog. Old buildings. Harsh winters and summers. Dense population. Sound pollution. Lots of hustle and bustle. They don't call it concrete jungle for nothing. And Frank Sinatra did boldly claimed, "if you can make it here you can make it anywhere." We'll give their New York City apartment living an (E) score of 9 out of 10. So for Frank and Sue Part 1 we have (GH + E) = (10 + 9) 19 is nearly as high of a score you can get for the things you CAN'T control. For part 2 of the formula... (10 + 9) x (LF + TF) = AS This is where Sue and Frank differ. Frank is frequently tired and fatigued in the afternoons and has severe headaches 3 to 5 times a week. It's a real struggle for him. He knows it's not good on his body but he takes lots of medication to control the pain in his head. Sometimes it works sometimes it doesn't. Sadly, his ailments have impacted every aspect of his life...from career to relationships with his family, friends and coworkers. Sue on the other hand sometimes gets tired and also has headaches BUT much less frequently. Maybe one every other month. She doesn't need to take medication even when she does have a headache because they're also much less severe. So what's the difference between Frank and Sue? They both have the SAME genetic predisposition for headaches and fatigue after all. And... They both live in the SAME environment. Why are Frank's ailments so much more frequent and severe? The answer lies in part two of the formula...the part they CAN control. (LF + TF) Let's start with Frank... Frank is STRESSED and he doesn't know how to control his body's response to it. Nor does he realize how strong of a connection there is between his stress and his headaches. His mom and grandmother always had headaches after all and he assumes he "got it" from them and there's nothing he can do about it. Because he's stressed, his body is not capable of sleeping soundly so he's falling further and further behind in restorative sleep. We know he's already genetically predisposed to fatigue and now he's not getting enough sleep to balance that out too. Other life factors like activity level, exercise, hydration all suffer as a result as well. Sadly, Frank's Life factor (LF) score is a 10 out of 10...the highest it can be. Sue on the other hand has discovered Stress, Sleep, her activity level, hydration and and other life-factors have a HUGE impact on how she feels each day. She's tracked it so there's no doubt in her mind it's real. (I'll show you how she discovered this in just a moment...it's actually pretty easy.) Sue is also stressed with work, family and life but she's learned how to cope and deal with it so the stress levels in her body are much lower. She lives far from a "perfectly healthy lifestyle" but she's sure to nurture and take care of her body the way it needs to be taken care of for her. Sue's Life Factor (LF) score is 4 out of 10 For you, maybe you'll discover stress has very little impact on your ailment severity...but will find Sleep or activity or something else DOES have a HUGE impact. Now for (TF) Trigger Foods... Like I mentioned earlier...we've learned trigger foods and food sensitivities have the biggest impact on how we feel each day. Frank eats pretty healthy. He indulges in "unhealthy" foods from time to time but for the most part eats pretty good. He eats pretty much everything and has a balanced diet. Sue on the other hand eats pretty good too but KNOWS she has food sensitivities. She discovered if she eats a food she's sensitive to, she'll get a headache a day or two later. Sue learned to either avoids her trigger foods completely or eat them in moderation so that they don't trigger her ailments. Sue has GAINED control over her headaches and fatigue this way. Since Frank's doesn't know his food sensitivity foods, he's eating them regularly. His Trigger Food (TF) score varies between a 6 and 10 depending on what he's eats. We'll call it an 8. Since Sue KNOWS her "problem foods" and KNOWS how much she can eat safely, her Trigger Food (TF) score is much lower and more consistent. It's a 2 So for part 2, Frank has (LF +TF) = (10 + 8) Sue's part 2 is (LF + TF) = (4 + 2) You can already see the difference can't you? Overall Results: (GH + E) x (LF + TF) = AS Frank's Ailment Severity Score: (10 + 8) x (10 + 8) = 324 Sue's Ailment Severity Score: (10 + 8) x (4 + 2) = 144 This means Franks Ailment Severity Score is 225% higher than Sue's even though they have the SAME genetic predisposition AND they live in the same Environment. So what's the difference? Sue discovered she has nearly 100% control over her ailments and symptoms by controlling her life factors and trigger foods. In fact, she could easily get her scores down even further if she wanted to and her headaches and fatigue would drop even more. Make sense? You can do the same thing with your ailment and symptoms... Here's the tool that I mentioned earlier for discovering you trigger foods and life-factor/ailment connections... We created this tool to determine which foods are your trigger foods and which life-factors have the biggest impact on your ailments. Below is a gif image from the tool in action. It's a part of Sue's Life-Factor Report...here we have a snapshot of her Headaches... You can clearly see her headaches are "Highly Connected" to 3 life-factors...the tool tells you this. It also tells you which ones are moderately, slightly or not connected at all. As you can see in the graphic, the tool reveals that Sue's Stress Level and Sleep Quality are HIGHLY connected to Sue's Headaches. This is the critical information Frank didn't know about his headaches. Once Sue knew this, she was able to take control of her aliment and how she feels each day. You can do this too. Maybe you'll discover that Stress has little connection with your ailment BUT your Activity level does or that your menstruation (if you're a woman) AND Sleep quality are highly connected to your ailment.
